Symptoms of a clogged lymphatic system
Written By Iris Reese
A clogged lymphatic system can wreck havoc in ways that may be overlooked until the combination of symptoms become chronic. Speaking from experience, the amount of unexplained stiffness and joint pain was enough make a grown woman cry I tell you. So often, we associate the lymphatic system with lymphedema solely because of the connection to the word and with little to no understanding the important role the lymphatic system plays or the most common signs of a lymphatic disfunction. This short blog is a compilation of information I gathered to help provide you with a quick overview to bring awareness as to what that means — it means that the lymphatic system is working poorly. A poorly working lymphatic system causes tissues to become swollen with fluid. We have probably all seen a severe case in our life time, where there is significant swelling of the legs or arms caused by lymphedema. What we miss on a daily is when your fingers or toes retain fluid and event the tissue of the head and neck are affected too! The swelling can negatively impact your daily functions. It can limit your range of motion and you may even experience a heavy or dull ache in the area being affected. In some cases, lymphedema can also lead to changes in your skin, infections, skin discoloration, and even fluid leaking from the skin. When the clogged in the head and neck area, it can affect vision and can cause pain in the ears and bring on nasal congestion. Please now that I am not a doctor and this is not medical a diagnosis or treatment in any fashion or form but it is information I researched to bring you awareness and give you the opportunity to understand the importance of a lymphatic drainage treatment. Knowing is half the battle my dad use to say…so now that you know, schedule your appointment to get your LDT and start removing all the toxins that may cause disease at a later time.
